yTrekking & Viewz@ Kasumigaura Lake Road (Ibaraki pref.)

On a bright, sunny holiday morning, when I want to enjoy a pleasant drive, Lake Kasumigaura is my go-to spot.

It's only about an hour and a half from central Tokyo, and you can drive through places like the one in the photo above ? it's a dream come true for anyone who enjoys leisurely drives!@(Nihedon @ KesaranPasaran Lab)

The northern shore of the lake is a town of lotus root and curry.
The northern bank retains its old-fashioned streetscape.

The history of curry in Tsuchiura is very old, and its roots can be traced back to the Tsuchiura Naval Air Group, which was established during the Taisho era.

It seems to have inherited the British Navy's food culture of "eating curry every Friday."

In 1929 (Showa 4), when the Zeppelin airship stopped in Tsuchiura, the airship's crew was treated to Tsuchiura's specialty, "curry with plenty of potatoes."

Based on this episode, Tsuchiura is using curry to revitalize the town, and curry using local lotus root is part of this effort.

They even held a curry event called the "C-1 Grand Prix."

"Tsuchiura is Japan's No,1 producer of lotus roots."
This is lotus root curry !
