yTrekking & Viewz@ 5. Aokigahara Forest Course / Toukai Nature Road@

The Tokai Nature Trail I hiked this time is a course that traverses Mt. Ryuzan in Shizuoka Prefecture.

There is a bus from Kusanagi Station on the Tokaido Main Line to the Mt. Ryuzan trailhead, but the number of buses is limited, and I wasn't confident I could descend by dusk if I waited for the bus, so I planned from the beginning to take a taxi from Kusanagi Station.

The taxi ride was about 3500 yen, but I was able to arrive at the starting point for the day, the first torii gate of Hozumi Shrine, around 9am, so I was able to enjoy a relaxed trek. @@@(Nihedon @ KesaranPasaran Lab)

š The view of Mount Fuji after a tiring day is truly special. š
The distance from the torii gate to the main hall of Hozumi Shrine is quite long, and it took about an hour to get there.

The mountain's name from its shape = "dragon's claw."

the stone monument might even resemble a dragon's claw!

Behind the main hall are a pair of cedar trees, estimated to be 500 years old.

I climbed the long staircase beyond the temple and looked back to see this magnificent view!

This is a cool and very pleasant trekking route through the forest.

"Alum italicum." its flower meaning is "evil."

"Shiitake mushroom" Not edible!

The view from the summit of Mt. Monju. I wonder if you can see Suruga Bay?

The summit of Mt. Monju is quite spacious, and there were people cooking and eating meals there.

Mount Fuji is truly magnificent.

š Going downhill is really hard on the knees. š
It just keeps raining. It just keeps raining. And my knees start to hurt.

Spectacular view!

And spectacular view!

We finally made it out of the hiking trail.

Tea fields stretch as far as the eye can see!
