【Town & Gourumet】 "Tetsugaku-dou" as a theme park about yokai (Tokyo pref.)
The "Tetsugakudo" (Philosophy Hall) in Nakano is a facility created by the philosopher Enryo Inoue with the purpose of enshrining philosophers and ideas from both East and West.
He rejected so-called "occultism" and continued his research to "explain strange stories." It seems he took the approach of defining "mysteries that could not be explained" as "true strangeness."
Perhaps that's why the "Tetsugakudo" houses objects of supernatural beings like "Tengu" (mythical mountain spirits) and "ghosts." That's what makes the "Tetsugakudo" so interesting, and what makes Enryo Inoue so wonderful! (Nihedon @ KesaranPasaran Lab)
The grave of Enryo Inoue is located at Rengeji Temple, a short distance from Tetsugakudo (Philosophy Hall). It's considered proper etiquette to pay your respects here before visiting Tetsugakudo!
A monument to Enryo Inoue located in "Tetsugakudo" (Philosophy Hall). His works include "Lectures on Yokai Studies," and he was apparently nicknamed "Ghost Doctor" or "Yokai Doctor."
